want to learn how to actually alter your own clothes instead of constantly taking them to a tailor or having to discard them? this 2-hour workshop is an approachable introduction to the basics of clothing alterations, covering both hand-sewing and sewing machine techniques.
we’ll go over the most common types of alterations, how to take the measurements you need, where and how to make adjustments, and the basics of getting a better fit on your own clothes.
you’ll also leave with your own little alterations cheat sheet to keep at home, with helpful measurements, techniques, and reminders you can reference the next time you want to alter something in your closet.
this class is beginner-friendly, but some basic sewing machine experience is helpful. no advanced sewing skills are needed!
