Ready to learn how to sew? This beginner-friendly class is your introduction to sewing from the ground up. We’ll take things step by step so you can get comfortable with your sewing machine, learn the basics, and start building skills you can use in future projects.
You’ll learn how to operate a sewing machine, including threading, winding and inserting a bobbin, troubleshooting common issues, and getting comfortable with basic machine control. From there, we’ll practice simple stitching exercises to help you understand how fabric moves, how to control your speed, and how to sew with confidence.
The goal is to help you become familiar with the process and feel comfortable using your machine. You’ll have time to ask questions, practice, and learn at your own pace in a relaxed, supportive studio environment.
You’ll complete a small beginner project to take home. If you decide to join an intermediate workshop later, such as Makeup Bags or Bikini Sewing, you’ll be able to build on these foundational skills and take on more complex projects as you go.
Have a bigger project in mind? I’m also happy to help you work toward alterations, upcycling, or garments made from patterns through private lessons.
